David Beckham Eyes James Bond's Car

The Los Angeles Galaxy ace is rumoured to be planning a $160,000 (£100,000) bid for the V12 DBS when it comes up for auction next month (Oct12). A source tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "(Beckham) is a huge Bond fan and has always wanted to own something classy from the films. So when he heard the auction was taking place, he was desperate to bag the car for himself."

The car, one of several used in 2008 Bond movie Quantum of Solace, is among a horde of 007 memorabilia going up for auction at Christie's in London to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first movie in the franchise, Dr. No. The proceeds will be donated to children's charity Barnardo's.

Vidya gets 5 crores for endorsing sari brand

Vidya gets 5 crores for endorsing sari brand

Vidya Balan has signed an endorsement deal at a phenomenal amount of Rs 5 crores. The sari brand is based out of South India and wanted to largely target the youth as well over the traditional Indian woman. So they wanted an ambassador who could have an edge for youngsters and also a strong youth appeal. And they found both the qualities in Vidya Balan.
"I choose roles that help me to be another person and when I find them compelling enough, then I go a head and do them. There are great roles being written and I feel blessed if they come to me and I can make the most of them. Today, the industry is like a pandora's box... you don't know what might come next. But it is heartening to see that lot of good roles are being written for women actors in the industry. It started some time back, but today it is more evident. There are very well -read people out there in the industry who are churning out great scripts," adds Vidya, who was in a village near Varanasi for a social cause recently. However, despite the change, much remains to be done has far as emoluments are concerned, Vidya feels. "The gap between the male and female actors in the industry, in terms of payments, remains. Women actors still remain underpaid as compared to their male counterparts, but I hope things will change in the future," she says.

Life Is Beautiful Movie Review

Life Is Beautiful Movie Review

The latest release to hit the screens is 'Life Is Beautiful' and since it has come from the refreshing moviemaker Sekhar Kammula, it is expected to have a bunch of debutantes. This time again the focus is on the heroes. They are the trio of Abhijit, Sudhakar and Kaushik.Regarding Abhijit, he has got some good looks but in the long run it might be difficult for him to get into big budget movies and shoulder the film at the box office.

Sudhakar is talented but then he is only suitable some mass films. Usually becoming a mass hero requires star background so just like Nikhil of 'Happy Days' fame, Sudhakar might have to make do with few mass flicks.Coming to Kaushik, he is fit for comedy roles. Looks-wise he doesn't have the material to become a hero so he must be thankful for Shriya's kiss in the film and consider it as his lifetime achievement. It is better he does not expect more than that for his height and personality.

Movie Rating 2.5/5

 Life Is Beautiful Movie Highlights:
- Shriya Glamour

Christina Aguilera Reveals Her Body on 'Your Body'

While Britney Spears was gearing up for her judging debut on The X Factor on Wednesday, longtime rival Christina Aguilera took to Twitter to release details about her upcoming album, Lotus. To the delight of her fans, Aguilera wrapped things up by revealing the cover art for her first single off the album, "Your Body." As is only logical, the art features Aguilera's curvaceous figure prominently. Swathed in sheer fabric, with some strategically placed tresses, her assets are on full display.

In her online Q&A, Aguilera assured fans that Lotus will include the heartfelt slow jams she is known for. "There are some beautiful personal ballads on this album," she said. "I wouldn't do a record without them." Keeping with the theme of her new single, Aguilera also revealed that she is inspired by "strong, take-charge women who are hard workers, individuals and who stay true to who they are."

"Your Body" will debut on Friday, and you can catch a sneak preview of the music video on Monday, September 17's episode of The Voice. The full album won't be far behind; You can expect Lotus to drop in November, Aguilera says.

'Mama' Trailer Is So Scary, It Even Made the Ghosts Hide

Breaking into the world of filmmaking in the early '90s with a mix of Mexican and Hollywood horror movies (Cronos, Mimic, The Devil's Backbone), Del Toro has become a coveted director for all things weird and fantastical. He was originally set to helm The Hobbit, but when the films were on the verge of collapsing (which, thankfully, they didn't), Del Toro took on the 2013 robots-versus-monsters battle movie Pacific Rim. No matter how wild the concept, the director's imagination never seems to run dry.

In fact, it's overflowing. While developing his own projects, Del Toro has taken the role of producer to help bring to life a slew of original horror movies with budding first-time directors at the helm. His latest, Mama, was inspired by a short film by Andres Muschietti, who Del Toro recruited to direct the feature version — and based on the first trailer, it looks creepier than any of the countless remakes the genre has been flooded with in the past few years.

The film stars Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones) as the parents of two adopted, possibly feral little girls. After being discovered in an abandoned cabin, on their own in the wilderness for nearly five years, the girls are taken in and handed over to Chastain and Coster-Waldau's characters. They aren't normal: running around like psychos, eating each other's hair, and talking to the walls, calling for "Mama." Who or what is "Mama?" That's where things get scary and the gravitas of Del Toro really starts to be noticeable.

'Lincoln' Trailer Shows The Man Behind The Monument

Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth President of the United Stated of America, but he was also a human. And during a Google+ hangout with director Steven Spielberg and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (who plays Lincoln's eldest son, Robert Todd) today, a glimpse of that human side was revealed in Lincoln's debut trailer.

Speilberg, throughout the conversation, harped on the fact that so often in portrayals of the man, the focus is on his seemingly super-human ability to do the right thing, all the time. He freed the slaves, ended the Civil War, and he could not tell a lie! All of these ideas of Lincoln stem from an image our nation has collectively built that borders on near-deity-status. Not to say it isn't warranted (abolishing slavery? Kind of a super-huge, very important deal), but it doesn't tell the whole story of Lincoln--the Lincoln who was also a father, a son. The Lincoln who was, at the end of the day, a regular human that also contended with everyday struggles beyond those of his Oval Office duties. And for Spielberg, that human aspect so vividly paints a better picture of the who and how of the Lincoln presidency.

The trailer does not give us much in terms of story line--though we know it focuses on the end of the Civil War and the passing of the thirteenth amendment--but we finally get a glimpse at Daniel Day-Lewis' interpretation of the man himself. And here is a Lincoln who feels not like a parody, but a person. Flanked by an impressive cast that includes Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, David Strathairn, Jared Harris, James Spader and Girls' Adam Driver just to name a few, Day-Lewis illuminates all sides of our sixteenth President's struggles in the two-and-a-half minute clip.

Spielberg said that the film he created shows more of the man from those storied versions of cinematic past. Indeed, he called Lincoln "a monumental President," that needed to be seen "as man not monument," and also admitted he had been trying to tell this story for eleven years.
